The new place is so quiet. The stairs make it feel like a house. Birds birds birds, roses on the patio. Sunset is incredible, even more incredible headed towards the beach, down the road. I can't wait to hike the nearby trails and hopefully see our deer friends again.
Kids walking home from baseball practice. It feels so American. Do they realize how fucking cool their school location is? All of my k-12 (and I guess university too) was in the middle of a flat field.
I'll try my best to ignore the blue lives flags, the roadside Jesus signs. I know we both have our shares of southeast trauma in that regard. But I guess we can't live in a leftist bubble forever.
